What ages do you teach?

We cater to a wide range of age groups, with programs and activities designed specifically for children and young people aged 4 to 15. We understand that different age groups have different needs and interests, which is why we have separate groups for each age range.

Our programs for 4-6 year-olds focus on introducing them to new experiences, developing their self awareness, and helping them learn basic skills such as sharing and communication.

For children aged 7-11, our programs provide a mix of interactive activities that are designed to be both fun and educational. We include discussing experiences and sharing opinions, games, scenario role-playing and peer support.

For young people aged 12-15, our programs are more focused on helping them develop life skills such as leadership, decision-making, and critical thinking. We offer a range of activities that challenge and engage teenagers, helping them build confidence and resilience as they prepare to transition into adulthood.

No matter what age group your child falls into, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that helps them grow and thrive.

How many children are in a group?

We believe in providing a personalised and individualised experience for each child who participates in our programs. In order to achieve this, we keep our group sizes small.

The number of children in each group can vary depending on the program and age range, but typically we aim to have no more than 4-8 children per group. This allows us to provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment where every child can actively participate in discussions and activities.

By keeping our groups small, we are able to get to know each child on a more personal level, and can tailor our approach to meet their individual needs and interests. We understand that every child is unique, and we want to ensure that every child who participates in our programs feels heard, valued, and supported.

We take pride in providing a high level of individual attention to each child, and our staff are dedicated to building positive relationships with every child in the group. This allows us to address any concerns or challenges that arise over the duration of the workshop, and ensures that every child has a positive and meaningful experience.

How does the program work?

As soon as you join our Connected Kids Academy or a Connected Kids Workshop, you’ll receive a confirmation email from us. This will have directions to complete a Pre-Workshop Registration and Questionnaire.

This is your opportunity to let us know all about your child and your concerns for them. These details allow us to cater to your child and their specific needs throughout the workshop.

You will be invited to a private message group exclusively for parents with children doing this specific workshop. Parents have found the message group an invaluable source of support, as these other parents understand and share common experiences.

Our weekly workshop Zoom calls run for 30 – 50 minutes (depending on the program & how engrossed the kids are in their end of session game!).

You are welcome to join your child on the call, watch on from the background or leave them to participate independently (very young children may need minimal assistance).

The sessions are interactive so your child will talk with our coaches and other children in each session. Our coaches genuinely engage with the children, and teach using visual aids, short videos, interactive activities, songs and play games. Children have fun while learning and enjoy our sessions.

If your child is particularly shy, we have that covered too, check out our other FAQs.

Each week we give you a recap of what your child is learning, share any resources to help reinforce the learning at home and invite any questions you may have. You are also welcome to share any challenges or wins you have within our message group.

Our Connected Kids Academy offers ongoing learning opportunities, and is a perfect follow on from a Connected Kids Workshop to help implement their new skills.

Once the intial term membership finishes, our Connected Kids Academy membership rules are really relaxed and you can opt-out and cancel your membership at any time. Just give me 15 days notice. **If you decide to cancel your membership and want to rejoin, please note the membership price may have increased.**

"I’m not sure if an online format will work…"

Our live online workshops are super simple – especially for busy families- it’s convenient sessions with us via Zoom.

No need to rush around or drive anywhere, you don’t need a babysitter for your other children, they don’t have to wait around with you wrangling them during the session, you can even be cooking dinner at the same time as our session!

Each session is jam packed with fun and interaction. Your child will talk with our coaches and other children in each session. Our coaches teach using visual aids, short videos, interactive activities, songs and they play games together. Children have fun while learning and enjoy our sessions.

Your child can just jump on – it’s 30-45 mins, they can have a snack while doing it in the comfort of home. We use pencils and paper sometimes, but they don’t  “need” to bring anything. No homework or reading on your part.

Kids don’t have to sit still- they can move about during the session if their body needs, bring a teddy along if they like- we don’t mind!

My child has a special need, can I still enrol them?

Yes, absolutely! We are an inclusive organization and we welcome children and young people of all abilities and needs.

We have extensive experience working with a variety of special needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Anxiety, and Learning Difficulties.

Our team is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all children, regardless of their individual needs. We have staff trained in supporting children with special needs, and we will work closely with you to understand your child’s needs and create a customized plan to ensure they have a positive experience in our programs.

We believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun, and we are committed to making our programs accessible to all. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss how we can support your child’s individual needs.

What if my child is shy?

Many kids in our programs are very sensitive and reserved at first- this is completely understood! Our workshops are intentionally run with small groups of children, so your child will feel welcomed and safe.
We always work gently with the children so they feel comfortable and we move at their pace. We gently gauge their level of comfort and there is no ‘expectation’ that they must talk if they are not yet ready. We have had children just watch the first session until they realise that it is a safe, supportive space and open up more.
Depending on the age of the kids in the group, they are also welcome to use the “chat” function to interact that way if they prefer.

How long is the session?

ur program sessions can vary in length depending on the specific program:

For our Connected Kids 4-week Workshops, each session lasts for 45 minutes. The program runs once a week for 4 consecutive weeks, providing a total of 4 sessions. During these sessions, children will participate in a range of activities and exercises designed to help them develop important skills such as self awareness, effective emotional regulation strategies, , and social connection.

For our ongoing Connected Kids Academy Membership, each session lasts for 30 minutes. Modules usually last for 1 month, with new content and activities being provided each week. This program is designed to provide ongoing support and guidance to children as they continue to develop their skills in self awareness, emotional regulation, and social connection.

Both of these programs are designed for sessions to be engaging and interactive, and our experienced staff are committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all children.

Can parents stay?

YES!! Of course, you are always welcome to stay!

We would love for you to watch your child shine and see what we do. Our priority is that your child feels comfortable and confident, so if you need to (or want to) stay, that is perfectly fine with us!

Of course, as a Mum myself, I understand the juggle, so if you can’t stay, you’re welcome to watch on from the background or your child can participate independently. The choice is completely up to you!

Either way, you will receive informative communication and useful resources for home via our private group for parents.

Is there a money back guarantee?

If after the first session you feel that the program is not quite right for your child, just let us know and of course, we will offer you a refund, we just want to support your child and offer a solution– hopefully you know that about me by now.
